Friends of the Winooski talk about Montpelier’s waterways and projects.

We are in our 5th year of building a village right here in the woods at Goddard College in Plainfield! EarthWalk Village School students experience interdependent relationships though long-term mentoring, immersion in the natural world, naturalist and outdoor community living skills, traditional teachings, songs and stories.  The skills, knowledge, and traditions from earth-based cultures around the world are woven together within a caring and supportive village community.  Come learn about how this program can serve as a model of building a strong resilient Village community, starting with the children.

So you think Elemental Beings are the things of fairy tales, myth and legend…lets talk. There is more to heaven and earth than meets the eye!  With the earth changes that are taking place it is more important now than ever to reconnect with nature, the Earth and the myriad of beings that keep her alive and thriving.  We will also look at the connection between these beings and Biodynamic gardening as well.

Come learn how to build a community earthen bake oven behind the Adamant Co-Op with Gail England. We’ll start at 10am and work until we’re finished. Wear old clothes, we work rain or shine.  Take Main St. Montpelier to County Rd, go straight for 12 minutes and follow the signs.

Jaime will be brewing up one of his magikal berry beer concoctions. Come and learn how to brew your own, or for the experienced brewers, come and hang out with other beer lovers, and share what has worked or hasnt for you, and maybe pick up some tips on the way. BYOB is encouraged….bring your favorites, and Jaime will let you in on the secrets of how they are made.
(small disclaimer….beer making can take a long time, so jaime will start the batch early, but be prepared to hang out for a while:))

Judy and David will be blessing our town hall kitchen with the sacred art of canning! Learn how to savor those tasty summer tomatoes in the dead of winter. Bring just yourself for a demonstration or pre-register at 223-2577 to get in on the canning.  Please leave a working phone number.  You will receive a call back with information or if the workshop is full.

The Energy Groups of  Marshfield, Plainfield and East Montpelier and others  engaged by it will provide information and answer questions for homeowners  interested in a more thorough evaluation of solar hot water system options and  costs specifically for their home. The goal of this workshop is to increase  the amount of local solar hot water installations.
A  pre-workshop survey will be placed on the Marshfield Energy Website and the  Plainfield PACA website.
